Beam was specifically tuned by Oscar-winning sound engineers to emphasize the sound of the human voice so you can always follow the story.
Turn on Speech Enhancement in the app to clarify dialogue when characters whisper or the action explodes.
Control the Sonos Beam using your voice with the Google Assistant. Search for any artist or song, turn on your TV, check the news and even control your smart home hands-free.
With five, far-field microphones built-in Beam can hear your commands from the opposite side of the room, even when music is playing.
Set up couldn’t be easier. Simply plug into mains then connect to your TV via HDMI-ARC. If you don’t have HDMI-ARC on your TV, just use the connection converter in the box to link via Optical.
You’ll then need to set up the Beam on the Sonos App, a quick process that takes a couple of minutes and unlocks great music streaming over wi-fi.
Connects to your home WiFi network with any 802.11b/g, 2.4 GHz broadcast-capable router for uninterrupted wireless streaming.
All Sonos speakers and components connect over WiFi so you can build the system you want. Put on a podcast in the bedroom while someone else watches TV in the living room, or group all your speakers to play music in sync.
Trueplay technology adapts the sound you play to the unique acoustics of the space and speakers playing—from Trueplay for home theater to Auto Trueplay with Sonos Move.
Capacitive touch controls for volume up/down, previous/next track, and play/pause. LED indicates Sonos component status and mute status.

Looks and works like brand new .
For people who are considering a speaker for their home office / gaming area, you can consider the Sonos Beam. It has a minimalistic look which sits nicely below a mounted 32'' monitor screen. It has very few cables (power and HDMI) for those who hate wire clutter. Sound quality is obviously awesome, but can't compare to the Arc which I have in my living room. I used a DAC with optical out (Soundblaster X4) to connect to the Beam (Toslink does not support Atmos!). The Beam also supports Google Assistant which allows me to voice command my smart lights in my study. Very happy with how everything works!
It pairs straightaway with a TV, works as a grouping with other sonos devices. The only thing that was a little annoying was that it doesn't currently have capability to add a Sonos Roam as a surround speaker, which is really kind of confusing and a bit of a waste.
Hello Julian! Thank you for the honest review!! Glad that the Sonos beam is working well with your TV! For Sonos Roam, it is designed to be portable hence it is not able to be use for surround for any Sonos soundbar! Do check out our Sonos One and One SL for surrounds options!
Bought this and a Sonos One for my bedroom to pair it with my existing Sonos One SL. The surround sound is just amazing! Great service from the CS Team too!
Thank you for the review for the product and our CS Team! We will surely let them know your kind words!
Simple and hassel free setup for my new sonos beam to replace my existing bookshelf speakers.
Set it up in a few minutes including the sound tuning. A good product for its price range. 👍
Thank you for your review Lim! So glad that you are enjoying the speaker! Look forward to serving you again :)
Sonos Beam is a more compact speaker and can fit almost anywhere. Playbar and Playbase have more speakers, so they produce louder sound with more width and bass. Beam is perfect for small to mid-sized rooms, whereas Playbar and Playbase are capable of filling large spaces. Beam features HDMI connectivity and has Alexa voice control built-inwhile Playbar and Playbase rely on Optical and work with other Alexa-enabled devices.
Yes. Five far-field microphones are built in to Sonos Beam to detect your voice from any direction, anywhere in the room. You can speak at natural volume to activate Alexa-supported voice commands.
Yes. While Sonos Beam is a great soundbar on its own, it also wirelessly pairs with our Sub for added bass and a pair of Sonos speakers for full surround sound. A setup with left and right rears and a Sub gives you true 5.1 surround sound.
Sonos Beam plays back all of your TV audio, once setup with the Sonos app is complete. You can stream audio from TV, movies, video on demand, music, radio, video games, audiobooks and podcasts.
