Sonos Arc really immersive sound
Bought the Sonos Arc to go with my new 65 inch TV. Setup is straightforward with the Sonos App. The sound from Arc is really amazing. It make watching movies much more entertaining. Really happy with this purchase.
Hi Keith, we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us. We are thrilled to hear that you are enjoying your movie experience with the Sonos Arc Soundbar. We hope to serve you again soon!
For my upcoming room project
I am building a upcoming gaming projector setup for my bedroom used...so needed something that can fit a centre left and right channels in a small factor and overall doesn't compromise in sound quality....in my list there were also B&W panorama 3, sennheiser ambeo, the downside of those were it doesn't had the feature which i can add a pair of rear channels or dual sub if needed...so i am left with sonos which is more future proof....been testing it using airplay 2 for now as my projector with eArc haven't setup yet...brought this in advance as sound always came first before visual...i was kinda impress with the soundbar as i had a full 7.1.4 on my living room my initial thought of the soundbar was the drivers were kinda small it can't replicate a real surround system....but i was wrong... the soundstage was kinda wide, the treble were not bad as i can hear the voice clearly, the EQ from the app were nice to have able to tune to my liking, the bass is wonderful as well when hearing gunshots but i am adding the sub to free the arc from those low outputs... although it may not sound as micro details like a full a range speakers but for the size and the easy calibration of it's trueplay i can say i recommend this product to those whom space is a factor where you can't place floorstanders and it's surrounds...
Hi Nakamura and Congrats on getting your hand on the best soundbar in the market! We are so happy that you enjoy our system and we look forward to your room project with our system! We hope that you can continue to enjoy your Sonos and hope to hear from you again!
How is Arc different from Playbar, Playbase, and Beam?
Arc supports Dolby Atmos, which other products do not, and increases chances of receiving a Dolby Digital 5.1 signal.
Arc supports increased bandwidth for the higher quality audio of Dolby Atmos. It also includes upwards-firing speaker drivers that act as height channels, reflecting sound off your ceiling for additional dimension.
Can I use Bluetooth?
Arc streams audio over your WiFi network and does not support Bluetooth.
How do I connect Arc to my TV?
Connect Arc to your TV's ARC/eARC port using the incuded HDMI cable or your own. If your TV does not have HDMI, Arc comes with the Sonos Optical Audio Adapter.
What is HDMI eARC?
eARC stands for enhanced Audio Return Channel. It allows full-resolution sound signals, including Dolby Atmos, to be passed from your TV to the soundbar.
Do I need a TV that supports HDMI eARC?
Sonos Arc can connect to TVs with eARC, ARC, or optical outputs. For greatest compatibility, eARC is recommended.
If you connect to a TV with eARC, the Dolby audio formats supported include Dolby Atmos, TrueHD, MAT, Dolby Digital Plus, and Dolby Digital.
If you connect to a TV using ARC, the Dolby audio formats supported are dependent on your TV model and manufacturer. The TV may be capable of sending Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital Plus, and Dolby Digital. An ARC connection cannot support TrueHD or MAT.
If you connect to a TV using the optical adapter, the Dolby audio formats supported are dependent on your TV model and manufacturer. The TV may be capable of sending Dolby Digital. An optical connection cannot support Dolby Atmos, TrueHD, MAT, or Dolby Digital Plus.
Our recommendation:Want a fully immersive home cinema experience? Wirelessly add 2 Sonos Ones or One SLs as surround sound rears, or take things one step further by adding the Sonos Sub for extra bass.
