Deactivate your voice assistants by tapping the speech bubble on top the speaker. The light will also turn off. You will still have access to other mic-enabled features, like Trueplay.

Make sure no one accidentally activates your voice assistant by toggling off the switch on the back of the speaker. This disconnects all power to the microphone hardware for added security.

Loving my Sonos Era 300

Absolutely loving my Sonos Era 300!
I got this for my study room so that I can play concentration music to help me with work.
It’s really nice how the Sonos app links all my various Sonos speakers together so that when I enter or leave any room my music follows me, and I do not feel like I have stepped into a new space that is very quiet.
And then, in the evening, I change my music to something a lot more upbeat, and the Sonos Era 300 plays it really well, including the deep thumps that you would expect from a subwoofer. Very nice!

Just like the shift from mono to stereo, it is the next evolution in listening. 

Why isn’t Google Assistant available on Era 100 or Era 300?

Google has changed the technical requirements for Google Assistant on 3rd party devices. We’re evaluating these requirements, but it’s a heavy engineering lift and we’ll continue to prioritize work that builds on our vision of voice assistants all working concurrently.  We remain hopeful that Google Assistant will be part of this ecosystem one day, but that’s really up to Google.

Is Era a replacement for the Five? Should I buy an Era 300 or Five?

Era 300 is not a replacement for Five.  It is the first of our next generation of smart speakers built for the future of immersive listening.  Built to excel with spatial audio, Era 300 has a more spacious sound than Five, which will perform better on conventional hi-fi stereo. We’d recommend you have a listen and choose the right speaker for you.

What is spatial audio?

Spatial audio is a listening format that delivers sound in three dimensions - giving you the impression that the sound is coming from all around you. Just like the shift from mono to stereo, spatial is the next evolution in listening - creating a sound experience that wraps you in music.

  1. Stream Dolby Atmos Music over WiFi with a supported service and content.
  2. Speaker must be set up over WiFi with the Sonos app before playing audio. Adapter and auxiliary cable both sold separately.
  3. Sonos products connect over WiFi. Experience Dolby Atmos home theater content with a compatible TV and HDMI eARC or HDMI ARC connection.
  4. Amazon Alexa availability varies by country and language. Amazon account required. Compatible smart devices require internet connection. Some features may require enabling Alexa Skills.
