Powerful Sound, Quirky Connectors

The sound of this amp is substantial and excellent. The Apple Music integration is seamless — a great experience to use the amp with the Sonos app.

Also, the sub woofer integration is extremely good and effective.

One point to note, is that the amp’s banana plugs are non-standard, meaning I needed to work with the speaker wire supplier to create a working solution to connect my speakers to the amp. The fact that the banana plugs are non standard is puzzling and should be mentioned in the product description!

Other than that minor issue, the amp is a great product and highly recommended!

Sonos Amp

Actually I only just received the Sonos Amp and set it up yesterday packed in a surprisingly compact box. The Sonos Amp's appearance is very appealing and sleek whilst still being subtle and fitting in well in my living room. Very easy to set up with the rest of my sonos components. At present I only have my turntable plugged into it and it works fine.

The sound is crisp and clean through my stereo set of play:5 speakers (note, i'm not an audiophile). My only comment would be that there is no earthing lug for the grounding wire that comes from my turntable chasis. Otherwise all good!

Beyond your expectation

This Amp is able to powered my Dynaudio Excite X14 effortlessly without any issue. The vocal that came out from this Amp is very warm and relax, as if you are listening someone singing in front of you. I did some researched before I pulled the trigger, a lot of people complaint this Amp is too bright as you can found online. However for my case it sound very warm with all default settings on the Sonos App and I still have to increase the treble and bass to bring some liveliness. This Amp have a lot of juice, you can easily powered any passive speaker. One small tips on bringing down the brightness, I suggest to use warmer cable for better result which I did for my case. The design of this Amp is also very sleek and lighted than my previous Cyrus. If you ask me did they sound any different, to be honest I must said I can’t hear that difference other than this Amp have more juice to make my speaker more lively...

Sonos amp review

The new Sonos amp syncs via hdmi arc to my tv seamlessly. Works very well and the user interface is great as usual!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Amp and Connect:Amp?

Amp is more powerful than Connect:Amp, supporting 125 Watts per channel versus 55 Watts per channel. Amp also features an HDMI ARC input for TV integration, allows control with Apple AirPlay 2, and supports Trueplay when powering Sonos Architectural by Sonance. Both Amp and Connect:Amp have RCA line-in options.


Can I use streaming services with Amp?

Yes. You have access to dozens of streaming services through the Sonos app. You can also control your system directly from selected partner apps, including Spotify, or by using Apple AirPlay 2 with your iOS device.


Can I connect my computer to Amp through HDMI and control volume and functions through the computer?

If your computer outputs audio through an HDMI ARC connection, you can use it to control Amp. Additionally, the Sonos HDMI Adapter (sold separately) allows you to connect a computer with an optical SPDIF output to Amp.


Can I connect my CD player to Amp and play CDs on my Sonos speakers?

Yes. You can connect your CD player to Amp using the analogue input. Select Line-in from the source menu in the Sonos app to begin listening.


If I connect a pair of outdoor speakers and a pair of indoor speakers to the same Amp, will all speakers need to play at the same time?

Yes. Amp is a single-zone product, which means all connected speakers will play the same content at the same volume.
