Charger & Bass

The magnet in the charger is way too strong, it's incredibly annoying that when you pick up the Roam expecting to be able to walk away with it and the charger sticks to it like glue. Defeats the purpose of having a slick looking charging dock. Also, the bass randomly gets super overwhelming on some songs, even around the 40% volume range. Otherwise, sound is pretty good.

Speaker for my toilet

The sound quality for Sonos is always awesome . Battery life is pretty good to . Only issue is that when it goes to slp mode , the alarm will not work .

Frequently Asked Questions

How is Roam different from Move?

Roam is smaller in both size and weight for increased portability, whilst Move's larger size enables deeper, richer sound. Roam is also waterproof and can be submerged up to 1 m (3.2 feet) for 30 minutes, whereas Move is designed to withstand moderate rain and splashes.

What's the difference between Bluetooth and WiFi?

Bluetooth pairs or connects devices using short-range radio waves. WiFi similarly pairs or connects devices, but it also connects to the internet, typically through a wireless router. Internet access allows you to stream higher-fidelity audio over greater distances, group or stereo pair Sonos speakers, play content from Sonos Radio, use features such as Sound Swap, and more.

Will Roam work with Bluetooth out of the box?

Like all Sonos speakers, Roam must be set up with the Sonos app whilst on WiFi before you can connect a device directly via Bluetooth.

Can I create a stereo pair with two Roams?

Yes. When you are on WiFi, you can use the Sonos app to create a stereo pair with two matching speakers and enjoy stereo separation and a wider soundstage for listening to music and other audio. A Roam stereo pair will not work as surround speakers in your Sonos home cinema system.

How do I charge Roam?

Connect the included USB-C to USB-A cable to a 5V/1.5A or 2.1A USB power adapter, such as the Sonos Power Adapter. You can also place the speaker on any Qi-certified charger or use the custom-designed Sonos Roam Wireless Charger.
